![]() Schiltrom formations in tight city alleys or gateways, even in town squares, is devastating to enemy troops. Using Shildtrom in city battles, where the Unit is only attackable from the front anyway, is a waste imho and cuts down on their combat effectiveness.I couldn't disagree more with this statement. Note: spearmen are in general good against cavalry, sword infantry has + against them and be careful as the schiltrom, leats in Barbarian Invasion - dunno in M2 but think it is so here to - are vulnerable to archers. The point is that the cicle unables the enemy to flank which is very helpful if his close combat forces are greater than yours.ģ) I know I will die due to inferiror numbers but want to prolong a last stand, in the town square for example. If with archers I use the archers to shoot the enemy and then run behind the schiltroms to later go round and continue to shoot the "locked" infantry in their backs. ![]() ![]() Put schiltroms quite close (spread to catch all enemy but good if close enough to make an enemy unit have to interact with two schmiltroms) in a line and use them to catch the enemies attention. The enemy can't as easily flank me when my flanks end unit is guarding at all directions.Ģ) As infantry, and possibly cavalry, 'bait' - if outnumbered. ![]()
